Taiwan has decided to confront the military threat from China. Taiwan's National Ministry of Defence has issued a statement. It has announced it would shoot down rogue Chinese drones - if they fail to pay heed to warnings. Palki Sharma tells you more.

Over-hyping routine events is unhelpful. After all, these things are called 'Drones' not 'esteemed citizens'.

In reality, one can never really know who's operating a drone. They can be controlled by military actors, teenagers, or even terrorists.
So, drones are just routinely jammed and brought down around sensitive sites in any number of developed countries. Indeed, it'd be unusual and irresponsible for Taiwan not to just promptly deal with UAVs as a routine matter.
