My dad taught me this trick back when I first started learning badminton... Three years forward... It's still a bit difficult to implement but I can push the other one into a corner now.

Edit : I have never seen such a good understanding between the people here on yt.🤣

This was not the problem. The opponent stand in the middle. The hit was hard and good that is all.

The opponent was ready and in the middle of the court, think the smash was just too far above and behind to get.

This a real good trick but the problem is my smash is too slow for the opponent to reach🙂

My dad trained me to always position myself in the center right after hitting so the opponent doesnt take advantage of the empty space in one side

I learned this forever ago playing tennis and ping pong. Not a stretch to realize it would work in badminton.
