Volvo V60 vs human crash test dummies in Morphsuits

preview_player

Volvo says its pedestrian detection system can stop the car automatically if anyone or anything runs out in front of it. We put this theory to the test, not with plastic crash test dummies, but with real life, fleshy human beings in Morphsuits. Will the Volvo stop in time to prevent a catastrophe?

I love how mitsubishi now have that similar technology now and talk about it as if they came up with it.

you'd better use dummies rather than human bodies. this is not a good idea to risk human lives.

You guys should do more test like these in a morphsuit after covid because these suits are the best costume to protect yourself from the corona virus😂👍🏻🔥

I got a question, how often are you driving 22mph or lower? Just a question.

would have been interesting to simulate a person running infront of a car, using a full size cardboard cut out on a long stick.

Why does it only work at such slow speeds?
How often do we drive at 22 mph (35 km/h) or slower? Except school zones. Even city driving is faster.

Very unfair test; the radar, laser and LIDAR systems look out for someone walking out into the road not a stationary person in the road.

ftw that's a S60 not a V60. the v is for the station wagons, and the s for sedans.

If they would get hit at even those low speeds it could very likely result in broken legs, ribs and possibly even skull fractures. People have too much faith in technology.

Let me get this straight - Volvo, a company renowned for its safety focus, makes pedestrian detection an 'option'. And it's so vague as to if a car has it or not that several times there has been failed demonstrations where people legitimately thought the system was in place but it wasn't. Now, most bizarrely of all the system doesn't work above 23mph? WHAT FUCKING SENSE DOES THAT MAKE?? If I'm a pedestrian 24mph and up is when I'm starting to worry! Volvo has their head up their ass with this one.

you can't tell if the car is automatically stopped or the driver hit the break.

Loll I was actually getting worried when there was the girl left. It looked as if it was going to crash to her as the video rolled along

За счет чего Вольво, надежнее, чем Мазда? Как правильно сравнить? Какие критерии лучше выбрать? Что нужно для этого? Посоветуйте, пожалуйста
