Why are hopes high with Labour? All their policies make no sense when you sit down and think about them.

Wishing I hadn’t voted for them now, it has become clear their funded manifesto was “funded” on wishful thinking and fairy dust.

They’ve already scared off non-doms and ultra wealthy from the UK - you can’t tax the ultra wealthy if they’ve already changed their tax status to a different country.

Neither can you “stimulate growth” or “investment in Britain” without wealthy entrepreneurs and investors. If you put up capital gains tax they will leave the country too, as this will significantly impact them.

If you go after our parents and grandparents pensions, that just increases the burden those older people will be on my generation. The current plans I’ve heard mooted will destroyed many people’s retirement plans. Younger generations will just end up having to support them more as they get older.

The plans for inheritance tax are a joke. The ultra rich will avoid rate rises/ the double tax plans, and they will just hit the people in the middle. Where is the incentive for me to work hard and generate wealth if I can’t pass it to my kids - that’s the only reason I bother to get up in the morning!!

Building more houses means nothing if you can’t bring down rates. I worked and saved hard for my first property which I bought in 2018 at the age of 25. Now I basically can’t sell it, the pool of buyers has gone to almost nothing - there is already loads of supply if you can buy right now but just no demand! Buy-to-let landlords are selling up and first time buyers are few and far between, so the bottom of the market has basically disappeared.

Genuinely considering leaving this country for the first time. I’m already disillusioned with Starmer.
