I know you can attach an air filter to this fan but can you add a 6" duct silencer on the other end and use noise reduction clamps?

The controller appears only to slow it but not turn it off. Is there a reason there isn't a way to completely turn it off? Adding a kill-switch would be easy enough to do, but I am still curious about this.
