Using my pup's fav toys for playing together has become so effective for the both of us.She is +10 weeks old and I get all her attention as soon as I say "wanna play?"
and the most sweet thing is that her fav toys are actually handmade by me 🥺❤️ and more sweet: one of them is a plushie that I made with parts of the fav plushie of my old dog, who is now in heaven ✨

I have a pup 6 days now ( he’s 10 weeks soon) and have done your crate training, the whining videos ectand showed my kids your videos. My 7yr old is loving all of them and can’t wait to try the training out.
So I’ve come home with family so pup needs some attention and just did 40mins running up and down the lawn with him. Result I’ve hit 13k steps 👌🏽✅responds to his name now ✅ he brings toy back when I leave him off with it. Leash training next. Thanks for your videos. I might have a very clever pup or the training is very good. Either way I love being a new first dog owner.

Thank you for yet another great video. I don’t have a puppy but after various life challenges that meant major setbacks when it came to training my dog, I’m trying to get back into everything again. He’s always gotten plenty of love and attention, but he needs more solid routines, boundaries, and fun mental stimulation to live his best life. Would love to see more videos on training adult dogs too if you guys feel like it! I want to take classes again but I experience there’s so much shame in having an “unruly” adult dog. I remember one time when someone praised us on our progress and then assumed my dog was a rescue dog. So I had to tell them no, I’m the one who let it get to the point it was at.

I often feel like such a bad owner and then I feel even worse because I’m letting those feelings just make the situation worse by withdrawing from the crowd of people who could actually help, in fear of being judged. And round it goes in a downwards spiral. Anyway, I guess I’m venting about this here because I don’t know if I’m truly as alone as I feel in this or if it’s more that people don’t really talk about it.

But I’m trying to (re)learn as much on my own as possible, so hopefully I’ll have the courage to join a dog training community near me again soon enough. Thanks for all the informative and inspiring videos to help. 🙏❤

What do you do when your pup jumps up and bites your hand off.

This was really great. I’ll be trying with my puppy today. Thanks for the simple instructions, I don’t feel like it’ll be overly complicated.

I'd love to see more videos with small breed puppies! We said goodbye our 12 year old GSD this year and I'm getting a small breed puppy for the first time since I was in first grade. I'd love to see if there are any more differences in training them vs larger breeds that wasn't mentioned in your last small breed video :)

Thank you! Having just brought home a 9 week old Brittany that is next level hyper these tips have come at a great time.
Edit: just gave it a go today with a bit of deer hide as the tugtoy as she was entering her psycho zone, 5 repetitions in the sun, a big drink of water and a pee and she's resting about to have a nap, this is a game changer, thank you so much.

Love this! Reminds me of toy I made when I was fostering three 8 week old puppies. I foster failed on the girl and it is still out favorite toy ever! I cut off the metal part of an old leash and tied it to a donut plush squeaky toy. We plug tug and come with it and it wipes her out. I actually think I got the idea from one of your videos on exercising your dogs inside. She is a American Foxhound Australian Shepherd mix so she has a lot of energy to burn

Good subject to address! Our pup is a very energetic 9 month Jack Russell/ Chihuahua mix that is quite demanding. We were advised when we got her that she would need at least 2 hours of vigorous activity every day, so we scheduled morning and evening play sessions and walks and added more as the dog wanted more attention. Rather than making sure she was confident we have now realized that we spoiled her with too much pup-centered activity. Parvo was a restricted in playing in the yard and meeting other dogs until she was almost 4 months. We don't have many places to go to socialize her but have worked very hard and consistently to get her to behave, without success. She pulls constantly on the leash now and seems to love rebellious behavior. She really is triggered easily into uncontrollable barking if anyone is near us or our house, barking in the back yard at any tiny sound the neighbors make. If we are right with her, she is beginning to control her bark slightly to the "Quiet" command but we have to be relentlessly consistent and she still gets out of control about 60% of the time. I'm in my 80's and I've never had a dog do this. It's very wearing, as dearly as we love her.

My Miller has been doing tug of war with me all day . Lol 😊😂😂 he is a energizer bunny. No matter how long I play and how much we play he just keep running.

Thank you for this😭. Our first dog is not interested in everything and very calm. The hardest part in training him is finding different treats and toys every week. Our second dog, however, is interested in everything and will not pay attention to the same thing for longer than 5 seconds. I do my best to train them since there’s a lot of misinformation about their breed (american bully and pitbull) and they are my first dogs. The first dog is very well-behaved now but the 2nd is only behaved when asleep.

My 4 mo old aussie doodles is obsessed with tug of war and fetch, i messed up not using seperate toys but have now done this. She growls like MAD at tug of war, i read its normal sign of loving playing with me doing it. She will literally put tug toy in my hand with a short lets play growl and off we go. I was nervous her growling when playing was aggresive but its not.

Just a reminder, be careful that the long leash can't catch on anything. You did, of course, with a smooth tree.
Thanks for a great exercise! I have a high-drive one-year-old rescue.

I was wondering why your not supose to shake the rope back and forth when you play tug? We just got an eight week old mini Australian Shepherd and I’ve been watching your videos for the last three weeks straight so I can train her thank you so much for all your content!
