My NEW Fractal Terra Jade Gaming PC build, with TIPS and TRICKS! Does it work? Spoiler Alert: yes

My Parts:
Noctua NH-L12 Ghost S1 Edition, Premium Low Profile CPU Cooler
Corsair SF850 80 PLUS Platinum SFX Power Supply
Samsung 990 Pro SSD 4 TB M.2 internal solid state hard drive
ASUS ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi 6E Intel B760 LGA 1700 mini-ITX motherboard
Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM 64 GB (2x32 GB) 6400 MHz Memory
MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 4070 VENTUS 3x 12G OC
Noctua NF-A12x15 Slim Fan (case)
Intel i7-14700K CPU

Tips and Tricks:
1 Get an SFX, not an SFX-L power supply, otherwise, the case fan may not fit!
2 Use the Noctua NH-L9x65 CPU Cooler, if you need more space for your GPU!
3 Always have a data backup strategy in mind! I use 2 external USB drives, for file backups!
4 Be sure to get a mini-ITX motherboard!
5 Make sure your CPU socket matches your motherboard socket (e.g. LGA 1700 for Intel)!
6 Make sure your motherboard supports the speed of DDR memory you buy!
7 Buy a kit of 2 pieces of memory, for the maximum installed channel and rank count, for performance!
8 Get your GPU's measurements, so you can be sure it will fit the Fractal Terra case!
9 Shop around for the best CPU price, e.g., look at "K" and "F" models to see what's on sale, for Intel CPUs!
10 An Intel i5 or i7 is a good match for this case, if you are using an Intel CPU!
11 Be mindful of recent power issues (as of 8/3/24) with 13 and 14 GEN Intel CPUs!
12 Try to build with ~2+ TB of disk space, for the operating system and games and files!
13 Try to build with 16+ GB of DDR memory, ideally 32+ GB, for gaming and video editing!

Bruce, you are an amazing communicator/teacher! I’m a retired power line engineer and wonder how much my company (Puget Sound Energy) would have saved if you had been a project manager when the company tried to implement a GIS system for managing facilities and customer records. They spent approx. 6 million dollars only to find out the GIS system was not compatible with the Oracle data base. Somehow communication failed between the engineers and upper management. It was a total nightmare.

Hi Bruce, this was so interesting to watch! Very generous of you to share your research, steps and tips for those who might want to build their own. Question, do you start with the case and find components to fit or do you start with the motherboard and find the case and other parts to go around it? Or is it all simultaneous Vulcan Chess / Tech Jenga to get what you want to fit together? Whichever, seems like you did a great job, enjoy!

You have such an awesome voice when you're not screaming. ( I know because I've heard your voice when you're not screaming.) 💌
