This was one of my first nerf blasters when I was a kid, and I too was a fan of one handed priming it;
Until one day during a neighborhood dart war I went to prime it and the handle snapped off right where you said it needs to be reinforced with epoxy 😭

Okay, it is dangerous to fire it one handed, sure. But look me in the eye and TELL ME that wouldn't feel, INCREDIBLE to dual weild.

I wish I'd done all the reinforcements as soon as I'd bought my Ratchet Blast instead of (gently) playing around with it. After about half a dozen shots, the priming area you mentioned as a weak spot just exploded.
