Part 1

Sadly a new story broke the news from this weekend that occurred at Grace Community Church in the early 2000’s. All eyes are now on what has surfaced. We now wait for a response from Grace Community Church.

I do pray that we would not shut our eyes to this, but take time and read about what has come out. Pray for the victims. Pray for the elders at the time at Grace Community Church who failed terribly with this entire situation. Pray for the congregation who spoke evil things to the victim. Pray for John MacArthur for wrongfully doing what he did. This is no matter to take lightly.

As someone who was treated in a similar manner through an abusive situation many years ago, I feel for her and the kiddos. Praying 🙏

I’m 67. I’ve known women my age and women 20 and 30 years younger. They were abused as children and some as teenagers. They never told because they would not be believed or they would be blamed. This sounds similar to how the Puritans handled their business. Heartbreaking. We are called to forgive but we are not called to submit to abuse and violation.

Although church discipline is Scriptural this wasn’t it unfortunately The WHOLE council of God was obviously ignored plus whatever MacArthur says or does is never criticised and he is treated like an idol by his followers which is extremely dangerous including for him and his followers get very vicious when said idol is critically called out

Asking out of ignorance. 1) Does secular counseling not only deal with the symptoms, where Biblical counseling deal with the root (sinful heart)? 2) Did Ms Gray not also admit to abusing their adopted kids? 3) Is it possible to put more facts on the table before we assume what had been shared by the counselors?

Thank you for a truly balanced account of this very sad situation. I do hope and I do pray that JM does restore his relationship with the Grey family - mother and children. Oh how God would be glorified in that!!!! I will be praying for all parties involved including those in the church - I hope this was an isolated incident and not normal practice.

It is the woman's choice what she wants to do. I know it is tough we all go through abuse or trauma sometime or the other. Everyone has their own perspective we cannot judge what other's decide. In my case I had to decide though it was very tough but now I am reaping the fruits of it.

And if she was not fully open about everything then who’s to say at that time. If it doesn’t seem to bad, to peoples understanding. Then we would always try to fix the problem in the home. But all things need to be out in the open.
In truth. Always looking at pointing fingers, but are we really trying to help the Situation. 🙏🙏🙏

If there are problems in the home, and the name is in a position of authority in the church, the husband should have been put on leave so he can sort things out. The Bible has specific rules about teachers or leaders in the church.

#1 It is unbiblical to go to the police against a husband. #2 It is unbiblical to go to your pastor about your husband. #3 Marriage Counseling is unbiblical and it is unconstitutional to require mandative reporting according to the First Amendment in the Constitution (separation of Church and State). #4 Accusations against elders need to be addressed by two or three witnesses (1 Tim.). People in general need two or three witnesses to confirm sins (Matt. 18). #5 It is unlawful for a wife to separate from her husband unless he agrees and only for a short period of time (1 Cor. 7:2-9). #6 It seems Mr. Gray’s sins were not known or witnessed while going to the church. #7 It is unbiblical for the church to meddle in a husband’s marriage life. It is like taking a dog by the ears. That relationship is between God-Jesus-Man (1 Cor. 11). #8 The woman openly rebelled against the church and separated from her husband, which was sin and worthy of church discipline (expelled). If the man’s ongoing sins would have been confirmed, he would have been expelled. Church does not punish someone for past sins, they are only told to enforce church discipline for those who are currently sinning and refuse to repent (1 Cor. 5).
