The lions haven't had a quarterback as good as Matt Stafford since Bobby Layne in 1957. Generations have been spent trying to find quarterbacks for teams around the league. Matt is the best quarterback to wear a lions uniform and now it's up to the ORGANIZATION to build a team around him. The team was run by a clown show for over 50 years. I believe Bob Quinn is building this team the right way. This team friendly Contract will allow us to build around him and within the life of this contract should get us some deep playoff runs. He could of easily got 30-31 million a year based on the cost of franchising him 2 years in a row after this year. This is a win for the Lions Organization and the fans.

Without Stafford the Lions, who made the playoffs last year, would've been a 1 or 2 win team. He didn't help them make the playoffs last year, he CARRIED them to the playoffs last year.

Blame the team Stephen A., not the player. Lions suck, Stafford doesn't. Not his fault the team can't run the ball or play defense.

Stafford is a great player. He took an 0-16 team to the playoffs only 3 years after it happened and took the m to the playoffs two more times even with a terrible coaching staff, a mediocre defense, no running game, one of the worst o lines In the league, and only having one good receiver his entire career. So if you are saying Stafford is bad because he has never won a playoff game, just remember that it's not his fault.

Any QB who really wants to win will take less so money can be spent in other places to help the team. Brady does it all the time

Hater. Give the dude his props. A lot of quarterbacks/players get paid WITHOUT PLAYOFF WINS. He earned that money through his play. Stafford gives the Lions the best CHANCE to win.
