Y'all are just mad because Gruden is likable. Stephen A is right here, he's the right guy for the job but the first coach to get an ownership stake shouldn't be him

He had me kind of agreeing with him until he played the race card.

Brings up the race card for everything

Now if Gruden were black aka:
A brother, then Stephen A. would proudly yell, we're finally getting the respect we deserve..Not hating just stating the facts..

Jon Gruden was a great coach for the Raiders. He was one of the reasons on why Rich Gannon’s best years was when he was 35 and older. That led to him winning MVP in 2002 even when Gruden left.

He needs to shut up. The raiders hired the first African American coach back in 90. By hiring art shell. He better not play the race card when it comes to the Raiders

Smh Stephan A is wrong and needs to do more damn research before opening his month.

The ONLY reason Jon Gruden isn't hired yet is bc the Raiders are still in the process of going through all the legal regulations & rulings that need to be met in the interview process "INCLUDING" the "ROONEY RULE".

As far as ownership stake goes, that is just a rumor from a previous offer that was going to be given to Gruden years back from the Raiders to pressure/persuade Gruden to leave the press booth and come to the Raiders, but now it is totally different because Jon Gruden is willingly wanting to leave & come back to coaching himself.

Even if the offer was made for ownership stake as well it would never get passed by the Owners, the Raiders know that, hell and even Jon Gruden knows that.

If Jon Gruden will be apart of the Raiders next season, it will be as a Head Coach, nothing more & nothing less.

SAS quit blowing smoke for attention and get your facts straight.

I think all the Big Successful names in coaching are given some type of ownership in the team..It's just not published.. Gruden hasn't accomplished anything comparably..

No reason for a race thing in this AT ALL. Jon Gruden is a Super Bowl winner and intense motivator. Enough said.

Lmao and here i thought SAS New Year Resolution would be to avoid using the race card so much.

I have a new found respect for Steven A. I said the exact same thing last night to one of my guys. From Tony Dungy getting credit for Tampa's Win to Bill Belichek being the coach who should get an ownership offer.

SAS couldn’t be more wrong on this. You’re worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. If the Raiders feel it’s worth it for them to offer Chucky an ownership stake to get him as their coach then that’s their prerogative. I’m sure if FOX called SAS and offered him an ownership stake in their company to get him to jump ship from ESPN he’d take it. He wouldn’t say, “I can’t because I’m ‘not deserving’.” SAS is an A-Hole who loves the sound of his voice too much.

Why is it that every time Stephen A opens his mouth, he prefaces what he’s gonna say by making some comment which he feels is going to be so profound and groundbreaking? As if no one will be able to handle it because of its implications and his belief that it will have a tremendous impact on his viewers. This dude is way too arrogant. Don’t necessarily disagree with him on a lot of things, but he really does irritate me with that attitude.
