It's so important to know CPR. My 2nd child has a rare congenital heart problem when he was born, he had a double aorta valve and the extra valve was larger than the normal aorta valve. The extra valve grew around his esophagus and trachea like a tree and cut off his ability to eat and his ability to breathe properly. His surgeon was the head heart surgeon in the USA in whom flew in from California with his own surgical team, he was head doctor over the heart transplant association within the United States. I can remember spending a year and a half at Vanderbilt children's Hospital and I think every parent should visit this hospital because it made such a huge impact in my life as a parent, as a person and it helped my soul grow so much. If I had to imagine what hell would look or sound like this would be the place and hearing the screams of the broken hearted parents in whom had children who didn't survive and the Ronald McDonald house is such a huge help and is a donation every person should give towards bc I do it at random. My son quit breathing about a month after we finally made it back home and CPR was vital in those moments. Now I'm not saying that your child would need to be sick however it only takes a second for your child to swallow an object that obstructs the airway, we all think it will not happen to us however no one is exempt from an accident

Yess if you do not know know CPR, take a course! Cpr can double or triple the chances of survival, and remember cardiac arrest can happen from a multitude of things, not just in relation to cardiovascular disease.
