Human Heart Found in Pile of Snow Salt at Tennessee Facility

An unusual discovery turned a worksite into a potential crime scene when a worker found a human heart in a pile of salt. It happened in Tennessee, at a department of transportation facility where snow salt is stored for municipal use. Officials say they really don’t know what to make of the whole situation. The medical examiner says testing has confirmed the heart to be from a human male. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.

Ive been in law enforcement for 98 years and I've never seen anything like this in my whole career. Normally this is an all American sleepy town where nothing happens. Everybody knows everybody. This is the last place you'd expect a murder like this happen.

What’s worrying is that it is deliberate, callous and intention. They clearly wanted it to be discovered, not immediately but they knew it would eventually be found. This is clearly the work of some deranged individual and I can’t believe how lax this law enforcement department seem be. The heart is clinical and clearly portrays how the murderer feels and responds to their perceived environment. The perpetrator is almost certainly a middle aged man and I hope they find him promptly.
