They're also called ribbonfish. They are edible but they make great cut bait for snapper too.

It's a komiganta, or 'long swimmer', similar to fish like marlin, swordfish and so on. I've netted a few of these when diving for jellyfish, but they're not common near the shores. They also don't taste that great either. Make no mistake though; they are a delicacy for some, and fetch a hefty amount of coin.

I (maybe) have once gotten really close to one of these things in the wild in Turks and Caicos. When I tried walking towards it, it darted away very very fast. The reason I said maybe is because it was either this or a Gar.

They jump with high speeds and can pierce through human skin.
On one occasion they pierced through a girls neck, but she survived.
might be a different fish but it looks similar to it.
