The advent of implants has changed the world of dentistry. A missing tooth can now be replaced in a fashion similar to the natural maintenance of the original tooth. An implant consists of an artificial root affixed onto the interior of the jawbone upon which is held a crown or a denture (partial or complete). Before the operation, the dentist will perform a complete analysis using x-rays. It may be necessary to use additional specific x-rays to avoid certain difficulties related to the operation. If you wear dentures, it is possible to have them fixed on implants. The success rate of implants is very high: 98% for implants on the lower jaw and 97% for the upper jaw. Hence they offer a sure way of improving your quality of life.
