Pruning fruit trees used to really intimidate me, I was so worried that I’d accidentally chop off some vital branch that would ruin the tree forever… but then I learned that fruit trees seem to grow like 6 ft+ per year 🙃…so… go ahead and prune away, worry free!!

Yeah you can really go at fruit trees, but over pruning can absolutely ruin a tree for years. My father overprinted our mulberry trees and yeah they grew back but it took 5 years before they got back to the size they had been and we had subpar harvest for 3 years.
He also way overpruned our dragon fruit plants and 6 years later they still haven't recovered. We went from getting nearly two hundred in a year to a 2 dozen if we are lucky Even 6 years later. DO NOT OVERPRUNE. And unless you know what you are doing don't prune at all. Do research first please.

There is nothing worse than ruining your own hard work by being overzealous.

Pruning ur garden it’s like cutting the dead ends of ur hair same thing it grows back …❤

I trimmed the top of my lemon tree and it stunted it and now it won't grow right for 3 years and drops all its lemons. I think you have to be careful not to cut the vertical branches and only the horizontal ones

If the harvest is out of reach, then what's the point of having a fruit tree? Been going round and round for years with this one and my parents.

Looks like that dwarf rootstock got too ambitious. Pruning the topheavy canopy takes a lot of stress off the roots!

Please turn down the music to very low. We have to turn the while thing down and then can’t hear when you talk. Your channel will grow bigger if you do this.

I always had a problem with not pruning enough honestly

You can’t just go cut cut cut, you need to learn about the type of tree you want to prune, and what fruit grows on new growth and what fruit grows on two year old growth.

By a third is often acceptable. A different third the next time. Be picky and learn how by doing your research first.
A vase shape or espaliered to a fence lets in light air and water evenly from rain

Their is such a thing as cutting too much though. Each tree is different but as a rule of thumb you don't wanna cut off more than 50% of the tree in one go or it could stress it out.

Cut it. It's a plant it will grow again and you will get more fruit
