This video explains how to play the Look at That (LAT) Game, which was popularised by the fabulous Leslie McDevitt in her famous book “Control Unleashed”. For dogs that can feel a little bit uneasy in the presence of certain things (other dogs, people, bicycles, etc.) this is a fantastic tool that allows us to replace reactivity behaviours (barking, lunging, growling) for much more desirable dog behaviours (looking at the new stimulus and indicating it to us). The thing is, my dog is motivated by treats to sub an extent (and it doesn't matter what kind of treats) that if I bring and give her just one piece of treat on our walk, she will immediately stop and her tracks and will just stand there, trying to get another one. She will not walk beside me, she will not look away, I will not be able to command her to keep on walking. So how can I implement this "look at that" game?
