How We Combined A Planner and Journal

As a life long planner and journaler, I always struggled with whether I want to have a planner or have a blank notebook for everything. I finally decided to make my own one to join the two.
.
One of the reasons why I created the Common Planner is to have a planner and notebook all in one place. It has the functional uses of a planner - goal trackers, monthly calendars, and weekly spreads while also including a numbered notebook with grid pages in the back.
.
Now I can plan my day, write down my thoughts, and sketch out ideas in one planner. No more juggling multiple books trying to figure out which planner or journal I wrote what in or feeling indecisive about my planning system.
.
It's like my brain...but more organized. And trust me, if it works for my chaos, it can work for you too.

Same. I take a blank notebook and do this exact same thing by hand, planner side and notebook side

Much as I love Tomoe River paper surface and thinness the grid size doesn’t work for me. I’m a baby boomer that writes in a cursive hand that fits well on college ruled paper. That means on Tomoe grid size I use 1 and 1/2 lines. It feels like I’m forced to write small and slow to use 1 line or large and sloppy to use 2 lines.
