Such B.S. its beyond disgusting, also where do these huge pharma companies get the extremely large amounts of ingredients for these pain meds huh!?!?!?...Hint, it's not in the USA.

It's nice to see these huge drug pushing companies held to account. So many of them get away with wholesale addictive narcotics promotion and dealing, meanwhile an average person has to look over their shoulder while smoking a harmless herb. Hardly fair.

8 billion is nothing to them, give me a break

How about making some treatment centers?! Ive been addicted for 13 of my 27 years. I have tried over and over to contact my health department and no one will call me back for an appointment. This is ridiculous. When someone wants help, you grab there hand and give it to them, before its to late.

This drug also helps many people with painful conditions. And the war on patients (whom need it) must stop. Some doctor's abused their authority, some patient's abused their prescriptions. But not every doctor or every patient abuses this medicine.
If you want to sue the pharm company fine, but untie a doctor's hands and get out of the doctor patient relationship business, please.

Why isn't the head of that cartel thrown in jail or is 8 billion dollars the bribe that is needed ?

So many more doctors should have been charged as well I was 19 years old and getting prescribed meds for cancer patients after a bad motorcycle accident didn’t know back then how dangerous they were

This drug has helped my mom to be able to live again and enjoy life without chronic pain, but has ruined my girlfriend’s parent’s lives. It’s all about using it as a last resort when everything else has been tried

But no jail time for SACKLEY FAMILY or executives who bankrolled this

$8 billion ÷ 400, 000 = $20, 000 per premeditated murder. $20, 000 per human life wiped out in a prolonged, tortuous misery on the way to death.

when have you heard of a serial killer being sentenced to a $20k fine?

Felony charges with 0 jail time. End corporations which shield their owners managers from liability

They managed to kill more than covid 19, so far. That's impressive, and know one went to prison. Seem legal drug pushers are treated differently to the illigal ones, even though they do the same job.

I hear lots of people talking about the Sackler family being held accountable (which they of course should be), but I don't hear anything about lawsuits against the doctors taking kickbacks to push oxycontin to patients. Are these doctors, as individuals, not also responsible, albeit on a smaller scale?

It's about time. Now children are even being prescribed this horrible drug! Shame on them!!!

American's should own the company after something like this. All American's should get a share and relieve the family of their company. You don't care about American families you don't deserve a company that profits from those families.

What a joke that should go straight to the family's affected and for rehab
