How do you decide what treatment to give your patient? Now often people don't have a very good understanding of what's involved in non-surgical treatments, so they come in and they're not very specific. They may say 'I would like some Botox for the lower part of my face' or 'I'd like fillers for the upper part of my face'. But as you know, as we teach you in the courses, botulinum toxin is usually, mainly used from this level and above, and dermal fillers are mainly used for this level and below. That's not 100%, that's a general idea. So what we do is spend a lot of time talking to the patients, remember these patients are going to come back and see you over and over again, so it's really important to establish a good relationship in the first appointment. We also feel it's really important to be honest with your patient, you don't want to be salesy, you don't want to over promise and under-deliver. So in the first appointment you spend a lot of time talking to your patients getting to know them, understand why they're coming for the treatment, what made them come for the treatment, what are they hoping from the treatment. Really try and build that rapport and that is the best way to deliver great treatments and happy patients in the long term.
