Dave Donnan, Pattern Emeritus, A.T. Kearney, shared observations about how consumer trends have changed because of the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the Pan-Asia Soy Food Summit, a virtual event held June 9 – 11, 2020. He noted that consumer trends in Asia were a bit ahead of other regions of the world, helping them better adjust to shelter-at-home practices. Based on consumer research, he highlighted trends resulting from COVID-19 that are likely to be long-term shifts, including cooking at home, managing budgets, food choices, food as medicine and more. Donnan discussed how food brands can adjust to these trends, and what trends are likely to extend beyond the pandemic.
