Stunning Late Autumn Wild Camp in the 3FUL Taiji 2 with clear skies, constellations and EPIC sunset

Join me on my latest wild camping adventure. I head into the wilds using the Taiji 2 tent by 3F UL gear and epic Nordisk Oscar -10 sleeping bag (all links below). I had to make a last minute decision to change location after feeling the first site was too near the paths. I headed up to the summit before the last of the light faded away and was treated to a stunning sunset out across the Irish Sea. The temperature dropped to almost freezing, with crystal clear late autumnal skies - meaning I was afforded perfect views of stunning star constellations including the Pleiades and Ursa Major. As always, I tried to achieve that 'Hygge' feel and was nice and cosy in the Nordisk sleeping bag. The tent performed well, I will look at this more detail in the future. A memorable wild camping experience, enjoying our Great Outdoors in all its late autumn glory!

This tent is often referred to as the budget version of the acclaimed Hilleberg Soulo. In reality, they are not at all comparable, however it is a great tent for the cash, with high quality construction, good material and a well thought out design. I would suggest this tent for Spring & Summer use - unless you can get hold of a 4 season inner. With two doors, this is great for two people - and palacial for one plus gear.

This is an EPIC winter sleeping bag and is superb quality - it kept me toasty and warm throughout the night and I will be reviewing this in detail very soon. This is also the bag I will be using for extreme winter camps this season. The Oscar -10° offers exceptional comfortable without compromising the insulation. The revolutionary tubic construction where the chambers run lengthwise, distributes the air equally throughout the bag creating an even insulation in all sections of the bag. To further protect against cold windy nights a wind membrane has been added making it possible to sleep directly under the stars without a tent. Oscar -10° is therefore great for sheltering or sleeping under open sky. It comes with a 3D winter fitted hood, for increased protection on cold nights. The shark-fin foot box offers easy ventilation allowing the feet to cool down.

That looks pretty awesome Chris and kind of like the fact that i can extend the life of my Soulo by using a cheaper alternative that i won't get paranoid about damaging don't even like it if someone looks at my Soulo from 50m away...is that me just being materialistic or protective ?Also it would be absolutely fantastic if Hilleberg made a two side opening Soulo just to make it a bit more versatile when the mountain gods are not throwing all four seasons at once wish you well mate and i am really hoping that all is good and looking forward to your next Never ever mix a 12 year old with chocolate unless its a Human :)

Great adventure out. Loved the night sky stuff buddy! I remember when I took my first ever photograph of Andromeda...it's hard to comprehend. A star alone is amazing enough...a ball of burning gas millions of miles away...but entire galaxy of billions of them. Humbling

One beer.... oh but a mini bottle of red and whiskey lol! like you are filming with the Osmo now, not using the Gopro? Looked a tough climb up with that big pack but worth it in the end, when you 'topped out' Nice of Walshy to leave you a present at the top of the kern and amazing 360 views where you were and that shot at 11:10 was brilliant! It may have been chilly as the sun was dropping but man, what a view it was, I think stunning was an understatement to be honest. I thought the tent was real good but the winner was those night skies and when you think of other galaxies, it always blows my mind. Shame the sunrise did not match the sunset but you cannot have everything! Cheers Alan

Hi Chris, your film making/editing has gone to another level, very Serene and tranquil.
I've finally got all my kit to start wild camping, can you recommend anywhere that isn't too strenuous to get to as I've had numerous fractures/operations on my legs. I'm in South Liverpool.
