thank you for pointing out this very specific flaw, not so obvious to detect and understand:
let the head spin with the torso, breathe quickly, but actively turn the head back in alignment before catching.

Super videos. Great explanation of why the timing of the breath is important and how it connects with a good catch. Thanks for these videos. I had no idea what I was doing wrong until watching these videos.

That was a super video...I delay getting my head back in position too...specifically because of my exhale being a little longer than required...that's means i spend more time gulping down air than required.

I like your videos, I am a new adult swimmer. Very clear to understand and computer illustrations are very helpful. I need to work on maintaining my body position. I feel like I am sinking and not maintaining a high level in the water. What can I do to maintain good body position higher in the water? Thanks for any suggestions.

Excellent. THE video about breathing I was looking for. Among dozens and dozens. I noticed top swimmers were doing what you are saying, but didn't know exactly why. Now I have the answer : an extended arm, a good catch and a longer stroke. Not ready yet to cross the channel from Brittany to take a private lesson with you, but ... maybe one day... Thanks so much.

Thanks for that great video. Illustrates nicely one of my major issues when swimming freestyle... dropping the left arm...not getting a good catch! will work on a quicker breath and better rotation!

You have a very good videos and explaing and teaching method pointing out through the computer. But if you could keep the sudden loud music on low and your own voice which keeps dropping while you are explaining in balance, that would make a big difference to our learning.
Your valuable time and effort is much appreciated and Thank you so much.

2:06 ... that dropping front arm is exactly what's happening to me, and it is such a (literal) drag...

I followed this advice and on the first time I tried I improved my 1600m time by 3s per 100m (48s) total.
