I play SV OU and I play it well. I click buttons like nobody else, on the Scarlet & Violet Overused ladder., in competitive Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown. Pawmot can resurrect it's allies. That's awesome.

Game Freak just blew all other online game development schools out of the water with this incredible new 2022 release. You're gonna need to get a game design degree online, and FAST, if you want to make a better game than this. Not even the best strategy games android reddit could hold a candle to this breathtaking Next generation competitive Pokemon experience.

Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.

Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.

Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on YouTube. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

I think the Dive Cats was even funnier. You use assist to call a move like Dive (or dig or fly) so you go first and become invulnerable. Then you have a lagging tail equipped meaning you will attack last. So you’re guaranteed to be immune and will slowly chip away at the opponent.

The issue here is that since Assist got cut in gen 8, Assist doesn't have listed any new moves that's not able to being called, because no longer exist.
So that means any new move that is introduced will be call-able by assist since is no longer being considered.

If assist was in gen 9 I'm sure they wouldn't not allow this to happen

If I had a nickel for every time the Purrloin line broke competitive using assist, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but its strange its happened twice.

Liepard always pops out of nowhere and breaks a format. Such a unique pokemon and I still can't find a plush of it for my daughter...

Another gen 5 strat was to use lagging tail + dive. The first turn it would go first and the 2nd turn it would go last. Though has the same weakness as the roar combo of being weak to priority damage moves but also moves that hit during dive at the cost of 0 setup.

I’m so glad I got to experience this before it was removed. I managed to win because the match went on for so long and he quit. He could never kill me because I had an electric air balloon shedinja under a substitute, and I could never kill him because he kept reviving all his mons

This had a more terrifying possible use, power up greavards attack to an insane amount so you could make it as bulky as you wanted, I think that would make last respects have the base power of 1, 650, maybe 1, 700

My favourite assist cheese is dive cats, it's such a brilliant yet infuriating concept.

I think they can safely program Assist to not be able to call Revival Blessing, I'm 100% sure that will be the case if they release it in gen 9 so they have to do it anyway xd

You really need an absurdly specific team to be able to set Assist to only choose Revival Blessing. And considering there's no actual game to be able to do this (Assist isn't available in SV), I think what Pokémon Showdown should've done is to set all new Gen 9 moves into Assist's blacklist. Or maybe just this one, instead of banning the move altogether.

The moment the platform is letting all those unintended interactions to happen, they're the ones actually setting them to happen. Game Freak decided not to allow Assist into the game (or maybe it would if there's updates and DLC, but they could also update the blacklist then and there) for a reason, and Showdown is letting their own design choice for the platform. Even if that design choice is "do not do anything more than translate the game's assets – the Pokémon, the moves, the items and the features – into it".
