DIY Fishroom Fill System

This week I cover a project for my basement fishroom that will allow me to quickly and easily fill my tanks without using a python.

Parts used in this project:

Y-Connector with Shut-Off Valves

Drinking Water Safe Hose

Side Mount Hose Reel

Brass Gooseneck Garden Hose Shut Off Valve Connector

Garden Hose to 3/4" PVC adapter

I bought the same hose, 50ft version on Amazon. Been working great. I love the hose reel idea, I coil mine up each time by hand...

I used to fill my tanks the same way from my kitchen sink. What a pain. My washer is in my basement so I ran a y off both the hot and cold lines to a single hose. Then I also put a quick connect for the hose. Now I can adjust the temp and fill tanks much much quicker then a standard faucet.

Cool video. I have to ask though why don't you just up the flow rate of the continuos drip system and just eliminate the need for water changes altogether?

I personally made a pvc run through the basement so that I don have run hoses from upstairs.. that is my setup :)
