With Blumhouse producing this remake of Firestarter, maybe it might not fall under the "remake makes the original better by comparison" stigma.

I have a feeling that M. Night will take up the directorial role for the movie Firestarter and it'll be in the same universe as Split and Unbreakable.

"Drew Barrymore" was 8 years old when the original was being filmed of which then she turned 9 years old when it was released, but the age of her character is the age of how old "DB" was when it was being filmed.

Either way if the remake/reboot is gonna b released by the end of this year (which I don't think that it will) or the next year, and after having said what I wrote above... we all don't have a fucking doubt in our "minds" that obviously the age of the main character who's gonna b played by "Ryan Kiera Armstrong" is gonna b changed.

Right now "RKA" is 11 years old of which must stick in to b the age of her character, but no matter when the film will b released... just like how it has been in recent years of the film industry... a older actor/actress is casted as younger character.

Blumhouse made Jem & The Holograms. They made some mistakes, but I'll still buy this.

I know there's been a bunch of remakes.But this one might be decent if done right.Casting it would be tough though.Maybe Millie Brown or Quin McColgen as Charlie, and Josh Holloway for Andy.

Normally I'm against remakes but Stephen King adaptations (that aren't made by Frank Darabont) are usually pretty shit. Misery and one or two others being the exception. So I'm all for it. And considering the whole Eleven story from Stranger Things is basically Firestarter minus the fire, I'm guessing they figure there's an audience out there for it. Especially if done well. Cautiously optimistic.
