If you notice all the countries that scrambled for Africa doesn't have alot of natural resources. Belgium, France, the UK, Germany, Spain, Portugal. They had to create a monetary system to pretend they have power, but without Africa they will go broke. They are scavengers and had to develop powerful weapons to steal. Russia is filled with vast amounts of natural resources that they had enough to do in their own country.

Abram Gannibal was an African who became a general in the Russian army. He's the great grandfather of Russia's greatest writer and poet Pushkin.

You failed to mention that the USSR was helped facilitate many liberation struggles for colonialism in Sub Saharan Africa. That is the key reason why Africans view Russia differently.,

The Russia Federation did help so many poor countries . Russia wants business and maintaining a good relationship with the world not like America and other European countries who have slave African continents and killing Africans and also still African resources.

Russia helped my ancestors homeland ( Guinea Bissau) to gain independence from the Portuguese back in the 70s I'm forever grateful to Russia and all other countries who helped break colonialism in Africa

Strategy of Russia is diplomatic relationships, business and friendship with each other’s, but not want to be boss and slave as the West did… Russia always want African to learn technology in local or in Moscow in order to have knowledge to manage African countries by themselves

I was in Russia recently and what I noticed is that Russia is filled with different ethnic groups, I went to the republic of komi and it looks like an Asian country. I went to the museum of Russian history and the lady there said that throughout it's history, what is know as Russia, the country was always at war, when conquest took place Russia did not have ambition of enslaving but rather preferred to give people a change to integrate so they can contribute to the czar. This is why Russia was not a colonial power. In Komi they have their own language tv channels and cultural events. Amazing considering it has 100s of cultures.

I’m from Colombia, South America. We used to be an exploited and enslaved Spanish colony until our independence. In the lates centuries most south american countries have been treated like US colonies due to Monroe’s doctrine. We’ve being forced to maintain corrupt governments, drug trafficking, military conflicts and industrial undevelopment by the US so we can be easily controlled and that’s why many people in South America are looking to stranger relations with Russia and China which usually treats us more respectfully than the USA.

You are only partially correct! Most importantly, Russia is the only European country that does not need resources from other countries! Russia is the only truly totally self sufficient country on the Planet. The Russian people are among the most decent people among us! Today, it is the most powerful country in the World, although most people think it is the U.S.

I have heard these same arguments made by some Brit in a documentary. That you would choose to repeat such biased information without further research is a big red flag.
As an Ethiopian I know about our relationship with Russia during the times of the Tsars, the USSR and the present.
There is nothing you can say that will make us view westerners and Russians through the same lens. Based on our experience Russians are consistently honest, decent, respectful and friendly people. The same can never be said of their neighbours to the west.
Clearly you have forgotten that for the Europeans, Africa was their last stop after they had erradicated the indigenous populations of North America, South America and Australia. They are serial genociders, to try and paint the Russians by the same brush is either sheer ignorance or willful compliance in pushing the western agenda. Regardless, you should strive to do better if you love Africa.

Russia has one major thing in common with Africa, is that it has limitless resources, and has to deal with the covetousness of Western Imperial powers, but unlike Africa it had the military strength to resist avaricious invaders, it has been invaded by three major empires in more than 200 years, or perhaps 4, as the British empire did invade Russia at the time of the Revolution, but anyway Russia successfully defeated them all, Africa Has Not been so fortunate in fending of greedy invaders, hopefully Now Africa can stand up and protect its Own, and it’s people can be full beneficiaries of its vast wealth..

Russia got invaded from the East and then 3 times from the West. They were more than busy. Russian expansion always happened as a consequence to external challenges: the Mongole challenge, the Swedish Challenge, the Polish Challenge, The Austrian one, the French one, the German one in 1914 and 1941 and now between 1996 and 2023 - NATO expansion.
It is not unlike China, which decided in 1534 to be content.
