Tip 4(for crystal and lower only):
Start the matchmaking as late as possible can most likely result in being matched against weaker clans (although don't expect too big of a difference) as those most enthusiastic clans tend to start the matchmaking instantly.
Has worked for my clan (across chrystal 1-3) 4 times in a row so far

My clan's strategy on 2 starring th 12/13 players when you're a th 10: just launch a blimp with sneaky goblins and freeze any sweepers and ad's then clean the outside of the base

the spotters a great idea but theres often a 2-3 second delay which is fine for corner buildings but can screw you over on a hero ability

What’s funny is how many based move their TH to the outer regions, making the 2 star a breeze. I just send in blimp with Yeti bomb, drop a poison if the CC troops are lured, and profit
