Why is Knuckles stronger than Shadow? A lot of Shadow fans tend to think he’s way more powerful than he really is. But if you look at the one canon fight between Knuckles and Shadow in Sonic Rivals 2, they fought over the Chaos Energy Radar. In the end, Knuckles and Rouge kept the radar, while Shadow and Metal didn’t, meaning Shadow must’ve lost that fight. That’s a pretty big win for Knuckles. Knuckles also punched Sonic out of his super form and can literally break cliffs with a single punch. We’ve never seen Shadow do anything like that. I’m sure Knuckles can lift just as much as Shadow, if not more. Plus, Shadow has never won a single canon fight against Sonic—at best, it’s a draw, but usually, he loses. And for those who bring up Shadow’s inhibitor rings, in Sonic '06, he had them off for such a short time that we can’t really know how much stronger they made him. Plus, it's unclear how strong the Mephiles clones he fought were compared to the real Mephiles. So overall, Knuckles at his peak definitely outmatches Shadow, with or without the inhibitor rings.
