Akali R E Combo Guide ! How to Master Akalis Kit (part 1) - How and Why it works, dos&dont's!

In this guide, I will cover how to execute Akali's R E combo , explaining why it works and its advantages (when to use it), as well as its disadvantages (when not to use it). I'll also present improved solutions for your combos, detailing each individual ability and discussing the fundamentals of effective ability usage and hence comboing.

The goal is to provide you with a better understanding of Akali's mechanics, while also helping me enhance my skills in creating educational content with more in-depth and detailed formats and coaching. I wanted to practice with shorter guides before creating a comprehensive 30-minute guide that covers more aspects of playing Akali. If you could share some feedback to assist me in improving, I would greatly appreciate it.

I feel like the R1 E1, when it actually throws you back ( not over enemy ) is kinda hard to do, even in practice tool. Unless you take some time to adjust your position at max range, it's hard to do consistenly and in game, you rarely have the time to look for engage on max R1 range. I agree that after a while you kinda " feel it ", but even then, it's not guaranteed. Even if you are at the appropriate range, sometimes things happen, maybe enemy will dash towards you while you R in and there's not enough time to cancel the animation before you go over them and you end up missing your E also...there are many thing to keep in mind here. Vs champs with low mobility ( no dashes ) perhaps it will succeed more than not, but it's quite a flip in the end. The most useful situations when this flip has better odds are when you chase someone ( because you know they won't turn towards you and you usually spam R1 key to start as soon as you hit the range ) or when tower diving because you can take the time to walk a bit away and then you can press R and as soon you see the animation happening (automatically) you can press the E. Unless they flash immediately when they see R1, you're guaranteed to hit ... but if they flash (especially when chasing ) you actually put yourself in a situation where you can't gap close anymore...so you need to asses the situation always. If you don't need E to kill, don't use it. More often than not, just R1 and then Qs + W is enough, you can even aim the E while in shroud if you can get closer .

But none of those matters, honestly for most of us the easiest way to improve would be to just farm better in lane. Look how chovy plays akali, the man just doesn't fall behind cs, 10cs/min in lane regardless of the match-up. He plays it like a scaling champ. And he doesn't draw a lot of pressure from enemy jg/sup because he, in some sense, plays passive. Obviously he'll trade if you disrespect him, but otherwise he's just happy to scale to mid game. I feel like that's the most consistent way of playing akali.
Having a very volatile lane isn't great...akali needs consistent gold early and if you flip some plays (with your team or in lane) and they don't go well, you'll never be useful as your power-spike is early (1 item) to mid (2-2.5 items). Afterwards, you start scaling backwards and need to play exceptionally well to have impact...and if you're behind, regardless of how you play, that might never happen ( have impact i mean). For anyone wondering, I'm plat and I actually barely play akali anymore...her late game feels too awful. So yeah, if you feel like I'm too pisslo to give advices, don't bother reading or idk :)

Anyway, great video!

Good guide, very detailed and even with direct tips to find first steps! I liked it.
It was a bit hard to follow in some moments though, a few more short pauses would have been really nice

I must be dumb. My E never connects lmao. It does in practice tool. But I always miss it when I'm trying to dive. I'm broken

Thanks for the vid!
So basically you have to cast the ult on max range to be able to do the R1 -> E1 reliably, since akali is "locked out" of casting anything else while "pefect execution" is channeling, right?
So a close range version of this is not possible per se?
