Slurping is necessary. I learned tasting tea this way from tasting wine years ago, where slurping agitates the air/oxygen in the mouth and as you said, changes the flavours a LOT. I did this with my first "High End" tea, a 20 yr old Bing Dao Sheng Pu'erh, and WOW the sudden slam of rock sugar smell and taste was incredible. Thanks for this Don, and keep the #Slurp

My first Hei cha from ML arrived today and just tested in Home Office with my new ML vessel. Very cool tea and vessel. You have to trust a lot Don ordering a never tried tea (tong) :D Slurping is allowed :D
