Blue Plate Award: La Popular Bakery

This week's Blue Plate Award goes to La Popular Bakery on Culebra near Callaghan Road on the West side.

The magic starts early here -- getting prepped and ready for these beauties to get popped in the oven.

From cookies to sweet breads and cupcakes -- everything is made from scratch right here in the La Popular kitchen. La Popular cranks out hundreds of sweet delights every single day -- and there are rows and rows to choose from.

There is something for everyone. It's almost as much a delight for the eyes as it is for the taste buds -- bright icing -- in pinks and yellows.

This is one of several La Popular bakeries in and around the city -- and if they're as clean as this one is...I'm sure we'll be visiting them all very soon.
