At the end of the 2022 World Championships 1500m, when Jake Wightman had pulled off the exact same strategy against Ingebrigtsen, it was suggested that Ingebrigtsen would go hard right from the outset in his next WC race (as against his usual strategy of hanging around the back of the pack, initially). Well, he did exactly that in this race and it still ended up with exactly the same result. I wonder what he will try next time!
