Mr Shipp, I buy a fair few vintage watches, and while I actually agree with the whole cleaning/lubrication argument you make, one thing I always worry about is case seals. I live in a humid climate, and bad case back or crown seals can allow moisture entry into the movement, especially when going from hot and humid air into air conditioning. That is why I always get a new acquisition serviced, just so I have a good knowledge of the seal conditions and long-term moisture resistance. Fortunately I have a good watchmaker who does as I ask and no more, unless he finds an obvious problem.
P.S. Got my own Snowflake three months ago, I have the same 3 second deviation. Love it!

I've had my Submariner for almost 15 years and it has never been serviced. The watch runs perfectly.

Craig, Sir you just can't help those that don't want to learn or listen to reason. I totally agree with you !! I'll take the Grand Seiko Period !!!! Cheaper to buy, Better Looking and More Accurate. If I want a Gold, Platinum bracelet that is what I'll buy. I'm just Not going to Over Pay for a Watch !!!! Rolex is ripping people off bottom line !!!!

Thanks for the content I'm a big fan of the Grand Seiko and had the chance to see them few months ago and I was impressed. I love dive watches I personally I use the bezel at my work as a physical therapist assistant timing my patient's during the session, in the hospital how much time I spent with them or how quickly they recovery from exertion. You are so right about the financial I have a son that just got his master debt free. Now working on my 15 old daughter to guide her path. I like quality things but I research and save according. Thank you for the comment about money because we all need to keep ourselves in check. I rotate between Orient M-Force beast diver, 2015 Bulova Sea King with the UHF movement and Vostok Amphibia. Hopefully in the future I would love the GS diver.

For me too. Accuracy is one of the most important points about the hobby that I enjoy. I bought a Seiko SARB035, making 13 sec per day. I dedicated one fun hour trying getting it more accurate and now it is doing 3 spj. It was fun and the watch is doing great. Thanks for the video.

I can relate to what you are saying in regards to the pricing of your Rolex service, I sent my Omega Seamaster Pro 300 meters for service quote (had been serviced once in Sydney down under), they quoted me and this is not joke, 3115 euros, this included seat tight : case, bezel, dial, sapphire glass, crowns, bracelet, hands and clasp... and this is their 1120 movement.

Watch servicing is like rebuilding an engine. Every piece of the movement is taken apart cleaned or replaced then it’s put back together and lubed.

Nice video. I like the new Rolex 3235 movement compared to my hulk or Batman I used to have. I wear my SD 43 everyday and never have to wind it. Had it for over 2 months now and only 4 seconds off. Pretty good imo.

Thanks for the content .
Seiko rocks . I can’t stop wearing my Seiko Sumo on a jubilee bracelet . Also, if the watch does need a service I’m not paying for any unrequired services .

Craig love your videos. I was curious, could you tell me, what video camera are you using when you are doing your up close watch camera work? I'm considering upgrading my video camera and I'm looking for some suggestions. Thank you and keep up the great work.

You are right! Spring Drive is king! Your idea of a collaboration between Rolex and Grand Seiko would be a dream. Only in Heaven! When you show me a flying pig, then I will believe.

HI Craig, just curious what kind of time is your Day Date keeping now after 20 years of no service?

I'm korean, and I totally agree with you. Accuracy matters!
But I cant understand that many korean think that rolex is far better than GS. It's a bit sad that no one think like me.

People who don't agree with you are the ones who just don't have Rolexes and never even got one serviced if they did have one lol, so many fake ass people on here that think they know everything.

I'd say this gentlemen is kind of right when he talks about accuracy. It's amusing to see those same people who say they don't buy watches for their accuracy complain in the forums that their Seiko, Hamilton, Mido or whatever watch runs 15 seconds off and that they should regulate it or send it back.

Love your videos! Should I buy the Seiko Shogun or is there something else you would recommend at that price? Thanks!
