it's been a long time since i edited to anime and i don't think this is my best work but vinland saga has just completely blown me away. not only is the story phenomenal but the characters are all so layered and the animation is stunning, plus im a hoe for vikings. it's such a shame that it seems to be so underrated, but i know this won't be the last vinland saga video i make--i already have another couple in mind. please watch this show it is so worth it !!

also like it literally fucks me up that so many of these characters are based on real people like... thorkell the tall was a real human being ! and so was thorfinn like wtf i had no idea, whoever said that there's nothing to be learned from anime lmao

Askeladd is the most interesting character I ever saw in an anime. Never hated and loved so much one single character.

3:47 that shot where Thors catches Thorfinn’s hand hits right in the feels... Thors’ philosophy of a warrior not needing a sword and having no enemies really saved Thorfinn during the farmland arc and gave him a new purpose of trying to be a better person. Just beautiful

With respect, personally I don't think Demon Slayer is best anime of the year. I love Demon Slayer....but the story and characters just aren't at that level. The character design, animation, and music choices are great (especially in ep 19 towards the end)... but Vinland Saga is great on every level. That is what makes anime of the year. I don't see any inconsistencies in the story.... as some have commented, but I'd love to hear their thoughts on this. Demon Slayer has 5th grade dialogue. It's not a hard anime to write. It's a pretty simple anime, there aren't that many layers to it.
