How to Use a Host Configured Printer on a Virtual Machine in VMware Workstation

As you might already know, VMware Workstation allows you to connect devices such as USB flash drives and CD\DVD ROM drives from your host computer to your guest virtual machines.

You can also connect any printers that you have attached to your host so that you can print right from your VMs. In this video, we show you how to configure guest VM printing in VMware Workstation.

Thanks for the video. I am still learning and need advice. I have an old HP plotter that will not work in Windows 10. I am told it can work if I have a VM running Win 8. Will I be able to print from the host PC via the VM to the printer? Or will my CAD software need to be installed on the VM too?
