Turkish Airlines is reportedly eyeing a purchase of 235 aircraft from either Airbus or Boeing to boost its backlog to 600 jets. Meanwhile, Aer Lingus will be forced to delay the delivery of its Airbus A321XLR as it struggles to finalise ongoing pay disputes with its pilots. Lastly, Lufthansa Group will look to cut its losses across 2024 following poorer-than-expected first-quarter results amid strike action.

The A321XLR is an exciting prospect-- but due to certification issues not to mention engine supply issues, i cant see this aircraft entering service until 2026 at the earliest...

Lufthansa use to be considered a premium airline. Now it is almost rated at 3.5. Want a highly ranked airline, maybe a non-European/American airline.

Turkish should consider taking the A330 neo as they already have A330 ceo in their fleet. It would also give flexibility given common type ratings between the A350 and A330neo. It is not ideal but if you need aircraft right now the A330neo has a smaller backlog and look how quick Malaysian airlines got their hands on the A330neo.

Turkish airlines has great management, strategic base and a highly engaged workforce and in my opinion will be the biggest airline in 15 years

If they're going to "cut" any pay, executive compensation should be first...

Stop with the “huge news” or ”huge order” headlines, it has lost it’s effectiveness!

First IAG took away the a350s now this. Ugh. The irony of Aer Lingus being British ruled.

Can't see Turkish airways not splitting in favour of airbus and leave the boeing part news till a new US potus press event can be leveraged

I don't know what Airbus or airlines are thinking, but i would never choose to fly 5k miles in a single aisle plane!
