For Nintendo to not have a radial wheel is crazy to us. It would have been much better for the echoes. Contextual suggestions for echoes… Pokemon style echoes log so you want to “collect em all”. Lots of obvious missed opportunities while still being a good game. Mark

Im 42. I still game, but its harder to get fixated on games like i used to. Especially as a dad. I homeschool my kid. I read, i do puzzles, i work on our homestead, and i do still game. But now i game while i exercise, or play minecraft with my wife and kid.

There is nothing wrong with gaining new hobbies. Its good, actually. My wife games, knits, crochets, paints, reads, etc.

Enjoy your reading and your gaming!

Irene has gamer fatigue. We all get burnt out from time to time. Ive gone 5 or 6 months without playing video games and then came back fresh. Ircha will be back and even stronger. She just needs a break i think.❤😊

Maybe now is your visual novel era hehe. This one hasn't appealed to me much either, and I've played nearly every Zelda game, so you are not alone!

5:12 You don't need to place down beds to break grass. Zelda's spin move (the R button) easily does that for you. For those that don't know, the spin move with the R button does this with ease. I hope this helps everyone out in their gameplay sessions of Echos of Wisdom.

I understand the gamer burnout thing, it happened to me when I tried to play every game under the sun that was coming out and I was just playing games that did not interest me at all. Forcing myself to play something that just wasn't for me, I took a step back and played games that I genuinly wanted to play specifically and I enjoyed the medium so much more. It's about pacing more so then not enjoying the medium. Only play games that you are super excited for the day they are anounced and you'll see a stark difference in your enjoyment of the hobby. Hope this helps :)

Reading has been my favorite pastime my whole life. It also really enhances your gaming if you read a lot of history, religion, mythology and literature.

I think it's totally cool to have multiple hobbies! I still read from time to time, even though I prefer playing games. It's just nice sometimes to do other fun things to break up gaming.

Thank you for your honesty here. I have the exact same issue. Proper gamers block. I keep picking stuff up. Stuff I KNOW I should like. I'm in my 30's I don't have kids (well, two fur babies) and I have time. But I keep picking games up, I play for an hour, and I put it down. And I might not come back for weeks. God of War, FF7 Remake, TOTK, CyberPunk, Baldurs Gate 3. Nothing sticks. The only thing that does is going back to OG Pokemon for some reason. Hoping it passes with time because I genuinely miss gaming. Such a weird feeling

For me it is a lack of good games. Not the lack of games. PC market at the moment is a barron wasteland. Swamped with crap games. DEI games, Woke games, Games that play it safe. Less is more, dumbed down games in a ip that made banger games. I have seen content of the games becoming thiner and thiner. Look at the RPG games of old compare them to the newer RPG games. Where character sheet? Where stats and perks? Where are the tactics? Most call themselfs RPG games but in reality they are action games, world building, dialog, story, companions, hard to see that being well made this days. Shooters have not done anything new in ages. Most of them are whanna be films. Most try to make live services. I do not have care or time. I have played WF for over a decade. I kind of stopped caring. I have played the games I liked too much. Starving for games that are in the same caliber. I do not think I ever will see a game like DAO, vampire the masquerade bloodlines, KOTOR. I do not think I ever will see a game like Black and White, Citizen Kaboto. Even the long runing game ip are runing out of steam, their best work is behind them. I get the feeling for the most time: Been there done that. I have only played games sense I was 2 years old. A life time spent playing games. Feels like there is nothing new, only rehashes of what already existed. Than remasters, remakes, it is like the industry is out of ideas. What happend to middle shelf games?

I know what you mean about hitting a drought with gaming. I have a PS5 and I think it's an expensive paperweight right now. However echoes of wisdom has piqued my interest in games once again. I'm having so much fun with this game and I know it's tedious but puzzles and dungeons are so refreshing for me.

One of my favourite things about this game is often being able to solve puzzles in many different ways. And see how others did it.

I'm 49. I still game, but I am way more selective in my games. I just finished Space Marine 2 and play NCAA College Football. I think the quality of games has diminished in the past 10 years.

I get the drought thing every couple of years. The best way to deal with it for me is just spend a couple of weeks maybe months watching movies, tv shows or reading and not even turning on a console. And then a game will come out that will just make me want to play it, so I get back to gaming organically without even forcing it.

As i became more and more of an avid reader, i started to realise how awful in comparison storylines were in videogames... i still love certain games, i just find absolute immersion in a good book.

I can relate. I'm 43 and a gamer and I love it. But sometimes you want to just take a break to relax and try something different. I remember in 2019 I took a 2 and a half year break watching WWE cause I was burnt out. Feeling refreshed and my passion for wrestling was back. Same with gaming. Took a few months off playing to relax and try something different and came back refreshed and playing again. It happens from time to time. You'll be back stronger and refreshed even better.
