UNSOLVED: The Mackinac Island Murder

Saturday, July 23rd, 1960, was meant to be the start of a relaxing weekend getaway. 49-year-old Frances Lacey was visiting Mackinac island with her daughter and their extended family. Frances didn’t realize that she would never return from the island after encountering a monster.

Kind of wild! I lived on the island for 3 years and my sister and her husband lived on the island for 7 years. For such a small island, it's got a lot of secrets. Thank you for sharing this story! We have so many from our short time there!

We go to Mackinaw Island every year for our anniversary and have never heard of 1 yet alone TWO unsolved murders on the island! It's so tiny and so busy! Thanks for the story!

Really interesting case, Jiles. This is why I think you do such a great job with your storytelling - I can watch a whole episode about an unsolved case. I prefer resolutions to cases usually, not a big fan of unknowns, but have watched all your unsolved videos now. So keep up the good work.

Also, the listing of emergency crisis numbers at the end of the video is a thoughtful touch, and might well help somebody in a critical situation, or at least serve as a reminder that help may be available. That island is so beautiful! It's a shame evil exists in such a beautiful environment. Whomever was responsible may not have been caught here on earth, but I am convinced that person can not avoid answering to God for evil doing.

My brother worked at one of the restaurants there! I've lived in Michigan my whole life. I was born in Lansing. It's known for selling homemade fudge and a great vacation spot.

I would be very surprised if the killer has not done the same or similar elsewhere. I hope they put out requests for witnesses to a strange guy on the paths and living victims that may have escaped and or not been harmed. Sad that people get away with such evil and suffer no repercussions.

I love Mackinac Island and I had never heard of this murder. Mackinac Island is a magical place which I first discovered through the film Somewhere In Time and I finallytook a trip there in 2015 and it definitely lived up to my expectations. Even the best places have their dark moments. Another great video.
