Ben you are wrong on this issue. A person that is mentally ill or evil will always find a way to kill, a car, truck, gas bomb, Machete etc. and we can not trust government to tell us who is and isn't mentally fit to own a firearm. I was in the fugitive task force in Southern California and have seen first hand the criminal will always find a way. Thank you for being a great supporter of conservative issues and keep up the great work

You can't legislate bad people, you can defend yourselves against them, what better way to do that than with a Gun!

But isn't your medical records supposed to be private? Wouldn't that discourage mentally ill from getting the help they need. I mean isn't that a message that doctor/patient confidentiality is no more. Anything wrong with you the government knows. Psychopaths will not go to a psychologist.

Criminals have due process before becoming felons and losing their rights. People with “metal illness” do not. Who determines what is and isn’t metal illness? There’s a book for that and I guarantee you that nearly everyone meets at least one criteria within that book that means they have a metal illness.
The core issue is not metal illness but the severity of that illness. Are you mentally competent? That is the question, that should be clarified when discussing mental health and gun rights.

Also, I would rather have a bad guy with a knife than a gun that was made to do multiple kills and the shortest amount of time. Way less deaths and injuries
