Fort Knox is a military base where America's gold reserves are stored. President Trump and Elon Musk want to see if there's still gold in the legendary reserves. I agree there needs to be a simultaneous complete audit of all U.S. gold holding locations. All the bars need complete examination including a device capable of determining purity all the way thru each bar.

Other countries pay the US to store their gold there, but how much is actually ours? We need audits every few years, not once every 70 years.

In the 1980s, I was stationed at Ft. Knox as a tank commander with the 194th Brigade (which was known as the "Slave Brigade") and one of our tasks (besides training new armorers 19E and 19K) was to pull guard duty at the gold vault. We parked our tank in the front gate and just chilling most of the time. Hard to think that was over 4 decades ago.

Actually it's not just that. Many other countries, kingdoms round the world pay the US lots of money to have their own gold there for safekeeping. Because it really is safe there.

I have a friend who is an old army buddy, who once had a job guarding Fort Knox. He said, decades ago, that he saw many military moving trucks show up, and leave with thier springs of the suspension compressed to the max. That gold is gone. 😢

I think many people are missing the point of Trump and Musk going there to film themselves looking at the gold reserves. Both Musk and Trump both know the gold is there.

The reason Trump is going there is because people asked him to do it, so the president is going to do what the people asked for him to do.

It's wild that a president doing what the people asked them to do is such a rare thing the very concept of it is so mind boggling that it won't even register in people's minds
