This video shows the events that might have taken place before the setting of the novel 1984 by George Orwell. The book doesn't provide many details about the history behind this timeline so the majority of the events are interpretations

The United States fall into a Communist coup during the Great Depression, which leads to a series of events that cause the downfall of democracy in Europe. The world is subjugated to a series of totalitaristic regimes that keep the population in poverty and misery.

I think people seem to forget that Oceania started out as a democratic union between the USA and the UK during the 1950s in the middle of World War III. And then Oceania had a civil war against INGSOC in 1954, and INGSOC won that civil war.

Realistically, moving forwards from the final outcome, East Asia would not be able to keep up with the other two powers and would likely be reduced either to a buffer zone or partitioned, as INGSOC and Eurasia hold an uncontested dominance over the world oil supply. INGSOC has the US, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, and the Guyanas, while Eurasia has half the Persian Gulf, the Caspian, and Norway. East Asia has nothing by comparison.

I love how you added a more detailed backstory then the majority of 1984 scenarios very creative

Beautiful video. However, I would like to point out that 1984 was written in 1949, and therefore WW2 was already over. Furthermore, the regimes of Eastasia, Eurasia and Oceania were established, according to what the book states, around the 1960s. The one that the book traces most is that of IGNOSEV for obvious reasons, which clearly says that all the books preceding the 1960 revolution were destroyed. The book then indicates that in the 1950s someone referred to in the book as ''We shouldn't have trusted them'' will drop the atomic bomb on Wessex. Then it must be said that technically the ideology of China or Eastasia, if you prefer, is the cult of death, a corrupt form of Chinese philosophy, therefore not of Moist origin. Despite these inconsistencies I must say that the video is very well made, keep it up.

Believe it or not, actually, it may be that Oceania never existed beyond the isles of Britain and Ireland themselves, and that Eurasia and Eastasia never existed. That the world was still the same sane place between Nato and the Warsaw Pact as real life.

A video I saw about the lore from another mapper explained that after the collapse of the Soviets in 1991, Nato began a full invasion of Britain and Ireland to liberate the people there, restore Democracy, and destroy Ingsoc for good.
