"Engage people with what they expect; it is what they are able to discern and confirms their projections. It settles them into predictable patterns of response, occupying their minds while you wait for the extraordinary moment — that which they cannot anticipate." - Sun Tzu, The Art of War

I appreciate these longer videos. It gives me time to think about the topic and then my mind goes in a trance state of receiving info while daydreaming about it. Thank you for these awesome learning experiences

The law about every englishmen having to train with a bow is actually still in effect, so technically if you are a englishmen in the UK and don't practice using a bow at least once a week you are breaking the law.

I'm impressed with the content of this video. I had no idea some of these battles actually took place. The stuff you learn everyday.

I enjoyed the video, tho surprised you didnt put anything about polish winged hussars. At the battle of Hodów in 1694, about 400 polish cavalrymen won the battle against around 40, 000 tatars. It was even dubbed the Polish thermopylae

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle." - Sun Tzu, The Art of War

I'm impressed by France they were able to not have a single king named Louis during the 116 years of the 100 year war

It can be said that in those times bigger numbers were often a weakness. In martial arts one of the first things you learn is that its more mental then physical. One man in fear of his life and honor is 10 times more lethal to any man who has come against him with even the slightest bit of comfort.

"All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near. Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak." - Sun Tzu, The Art of War

How about the battle of Cannae, where 50, 000 carthagians under the command of Hannibal faced off against 86, 400 Romans? (Where Hannibal won when he used a pincer movement against the Romans. The end result was a win for Carthage, and 67, 500 Romans killed, and only 5, 700 carthagians killed.

So nobody is going to talk about Admiral Yi absolutely destroying the Japanese armada of 330 ships (130 warships) with only 13 ships?

Notes: using mud ground to stop the heavy cavilry and knights from reaching your archers who picked off the enemy.

The greeks thined there center ranks as the persans put there elets there, and if they didn't exspand the flanks they would be flanked.. so they strengthed the flanks and were able to encircle the persan elets
