The Curse of the Mummies | Documentary

The curse of the mummies has haunted people since ancient times. Tombs were often enchanted with a written curse to make sure no one would interrupt the pharaohs and others eternal slumbers. Those tombs were their home and if you disrupted their mummified bodies, they would haunt your home too with curses. At least that is what is believed. But, how much truth is there in the curse of the mummies?

I love how thoroughly you guys research things, and how you bring open-minded skepticism to these topics.

One more thought, I've always had mixed feelings regarding tomb excavation. Whilst it's important from a historical aspect, it's still removing a deceased person from their place of eternal rest and stealing all of their treasures. Cleary the Egyptians placed a high importance on their tombs and disturbing their graves and removing the bodies and belongings and putting them on display seems wrong to me. How would we feel if in 3k years our descendants exhumed JFK and placed him on display? Just because they died thousands of years ago, doesn't mean they automatically go from human to relic. I don't know, those are just my thoughts.

Still one of the strongest videos of the channel. The consecutive stories without any fat or list-making. Just good old ghost tales and history.

I graduated last year with a BA honors in Egyptology and this video is pure gold!!! So much energy, includeing human lives, were spent builting mighty tombs and mummifing thier loved ones, this continued in Egypt for over 4000 years, so much human emotion is bound to still linger on in the tombs and temples of the Ancient Egyptians

Really interesting there's always a fascination with ancient Egypt. I've read a lot over the years but didn't know about the princess and her hand. Also the cave sickness makes a lot of sense re curses. Thank you

I LOVED this video!! I think after all these years, Egypt is still my favorite ancient civilization to learn/ hear about. No matter how much I hear about the mummies' curses, I still always enjoy it.

Very well done :) "The more you know, the more there is to fear." That has, very much, the ring of truth to it.

I've alway wonder what would happen if the tombs were moved to different places and it sort of reminds me how you're not allow to disturb the die, because moving their coffin or tomb would "wake" them from their sleep.
Thank you for another great video, certainly makes you think.

Spirits are spirits no matter where they are from Egypt, England or even the USA. Why can't there be spirits for the pharaohs?? They have very old spirits in the USA and England so why not there??

It seems that sometimes spirits do care very much about how they are buried. I have one story from my 92-year-old mother. Great video. As usual.
