Hi, what a great impression your gave of the island. Also thank you for the compliments about my boat. I am very proud of her and I think we both like the design principles.
See you someplace South.

It's great to see Vera earning her passage by swabbing the decks :)

As a Dutchman I visited Vlieland quite often. You have beautifully put Vlieland on the map. Very well done! Have a good trip to France.

Vera is getting to be a nice young lady. Cleaning constantly in a young child comes from watching adults clean all the time. You are raising a wonderful human being, Kudos to Vera's parents for being an excellent influence.

Most Dutch people bike without a helm. We want to feel the wind in our hair😉 Very nice video as always!!

Thanks for posting and sharing. Really fun to see the island. Very wonderful that Berend happened to meet up with Ran's family and give them the tour of his big yacht.

6:56 Poem on the beach
NL: Zilte zoute tranen, sta niet stil maar dans je dag. Vier het leven, dankbaarheid, verzandt plots in een schaterlach.
EN: Salty salty tears, don't stand still but dance your day. Celebrate life, gratitude, suddenly gets bogged down in a burst of laughter.

Those islands (Frisian Islands) are the setting for one of my favorite books, The Riddle of the Sands by Erskine Childers. Fantastic, sea-soaked 1st World War spy tale. Also a movie.

What a beautiful island. The drone footage along the bike path through the trees was very nice. That was some good flying.

Stay there. Caribbean has nothing to impress you, that"s my opinion after so many years in Grenada and Grenadines. you are in paradise at least in a summer. Lots of Love. Capt. Jack.

That sea is called "Waddenzee" indeed. Have you connected "wadden" (plural, or "wad" singular) with the English verb "to wade"? Because at low tide you can walk and wade from the mainland to these islands, or back. So this geology has sand banks that fall dry at low tide and "wadden" that are shallow enough to wade through them at low tide. And the deeper passages with some depth that may or may not be (just) deep enough for your well keeled boat. That barge you pointed at is a "flat bottom" and has no keel so it is adapted to these shallows. The strange plate ("zwaard" in Dutch) on its side, there's one on the other side too, is lowered into the water when sailing to prevent being pushed to the lee in certain winds.
