About: Satisfactory

Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Pioneering for FICSIT Incorporated means charting and exploiting an alien planet, battling alien lifeforms, creating multi-story factories, entering conveyor belt heaven, automating vehicles, and researching new technologies.
This Factorio like game has heavy automation, with automated mining, crafting, and you can even automate movement!

Do you have any other factory games suggestions I missed?

i feel like Minecraft is becoming a really good factory type of game with mods like Create or Immersive Engineering that add multiblock structures and many other machines to help automate basically every farmable resource in Minecraft

Mindustry is quite the interesting Tower defense factory game as it has the blueprint element.
Including RTS like game modes where you fight of players rather than AI.

Though it is not an eternally expanding factory that only sees it's limit in your processing power it is a fun game where you learn to set up and manage your factory for incoming enemy attacks.
Like how Factorio is extremely difficult depending on it's layout if you ever try a Deathworld, to much ocean or desert nearby and you will eventually be outrun by biter evolution in comparison to your munitions production and pollution spread.

Sadly I missed the alpha for Technoica, but they're releasing a demo soon on steam. Glad to see Foundry on the list too, they're moving pretty fast with that game. Also nice to see Hydroneer on the list. It's pretty rough and ready in terms of user experience and quite slow to start, but I enjoy it. Thanks for a video, glad to have new games to try!

If Factorio is getting a DLC, I will blindy buy it. Bought Factorio back in early access for 20€ and didn't regret it for a second. Honestly the best 20 bucks I've ever spent.

There are two games still in Early Access that are available on Steam and a third one in full release that could fall into this genre: They are Industries of Titan, Mega Factory Titan, and Mindustry respectively.

After playing Satisfactory there is no other the same but I’ve been hooked on Foundry for which the devs are really proactive and updating regularly, the multiplayer is awesome playing friends works very well but the true challenge is the single player, check it out it’s not the cartoonish aspect of the game the logistics is brilliant the way everything works in harmony 😉

A little bit different than a factory game perse but it does incorporate resource management, automation and colony growth is Oxygen Not Included. It's an excellent game! I feel that it is closely related to this genre.

I played Factorio, Satisfactory, Mindustry, Fortresscraft Evolved. But my favorite is DSP. It has a great end game and great scaling of factories.

I found Junkpunk needs a lot more work on the automation front to really work as a factory game. One problem is the fact that manual crafting is pretty cheap compared to setting up any automation (in terms of both resources and space), which means you tend to set up a single machine and then manually reconfigure it to process materials you can't handcraft. Some sort of programming on both machines and splitters would allow actual automated factories. Especially at the NWR level (at the scrap level you can readily do everything with a single process line to produce ingots.

I feel like DSP doesn’t get enough love and attention. When unlocking achievements throughout the course of the game I noticed that some fairly early game achievements only 15-20% of players have unlocked? I don’t know if it’s how rough the early game can be with fuel consumption, early game red matrices, or just a learning curve, but I feel like if more people gave it an honest shot it would gain a lot more publicity like Satisfactory and Factorio. DSP is hands down my favorite factory game. 600 hours in it alongside my 500 hours in Satisfactory.

A lot of you know and have said that already, but Mindustry is one of the better factory games. I've been ignoring it for some time now, but I strongly regret my decisions. It seemed like a really simple Factorio clone that's not worth playing. I really love it now.

I fell in love with the look and feel of Captain OI the moment I saw Nilaus play it. I was so happy to see it come out and not be a bomb. Factory Town is probably a good one to recommend to players new to factory/management games. I do feel like Timberborn should have been included as it opened to Overwhelmingly Positive Steam reviews and certainly has a unique approach. But I have to say, Factorio is near and dear to my heart because it completely changed my world of gaming. And as much as I love Factorio the game, I love more the fact that it popularized this genre so there are so many flavors. PS but not really PS, Transport Fever 2 is also a great game that's not technically a factory builder, but is a fun logistical management game.

"Create above and beyond" is a brilliant factory Minecraft modpack

I’m excited for Astro Colony! I backed the kickstarter and played a bit of the beta. A factory game set in space where you harvest asteroids for resources and you can set up bases on different planets. They had some colony management aspects as well with workers you can hire and manage.

autonauts is a good Factory game too, the creator even released a new game with the same base mechanics

You forgot Mindustry :3 While a light factory game, more so a tower defense. I think it should be in the list!
