Any vehicle that puts you in massive debt is the worst vehicle. Avoid those.

I just bought a Honda Odyssey and I absolutely love it. The seats fold into the floor and leaves a ton of space. There's storage compartments everywhere, even under the seats. Max cargo space. And it's long enough to carry my kayak without it hanging off. Minivans are far superior to an suv.

The auto industry needs to build affordable cars again.

I understand for people who have kids and do a lot of outdoor activities get an SUV but me, 30 year old, no kids, I just got a civic, get to work and back, and drive around in.

At first I was surprised to hear Scotty talk down about a Toyota, but as soon as he mentioned the turbocharged engine, subscription based amenity and price. I understood completely. Thank you as always Scotty!

Nobody drives off-road. Who would at 70 grand?

Very informative. Two observations:
1. The Sequoia is on its 3rd generation, not the 2nd.
2. The Sienna LE- DOES come with the 8 passenger option. I just looked it up on the Toyota website.

A Virginia Toyota dealer has listed a 2024 Land Cruiser for a staggering $107, 169 which is a markup of over $30, 000

When Subaru intro'd the Forester in the 1990's, it was intended as a rational solution to the SUV question, with slightly higher vehicle height, captain's chairs, skid plating and arguably the best car-based 4-wheel drive on the planet. This "SUV-light" concept appealed to their primary Whole-Foods and granola market, but are great cars anyway. Ours is a 1999 S Turbo in signature green, basically a WRX with a tailgate.

Miss the older SUVs. Solid cargo and passenger space. Decent towing, and solid off-road. They fit exactly want I needed; a vehicle that was pretty good at doing a wide variety of things. Pricing wasn't terrible, though MPG was just as bad as they are now.

It's annoying that here in the states we can't get/buy a "cargo" version of the Sienna and Odyssey.

Drove a newer Tahoe, rented it on a vacay, and it was super nice, plush ride, and quiet. But no way im paying the astronomical price for something nowhere near as economical as my avalon

Want a Sequoia - but the previous gen, with the lovely 5.7 V8.

Honda and Toyota Vans can fit 4 x 8s in between the rear the door closed after you fold down the 2nd and 3rd rows. I love both vans. An older Sienna AWD lifted 3 inches can go just about anywhere and used as a weekend RV. You can also place a 327w solar panel on top for some off-gridding

We had a sienna that died on us and my wife wanted a Sequoia so that’s what we got. It’s nice but I prefer the sienna. You can fit more gear in it. It’s strong enough to pull our little trailer and gets better gas mileage. She always wanted a Sequoia though 🤷🏻‍♂️I got an 05 Scion XB and that’s my baby

Get a pickup truck & bed cover, whether its a tonneau or shell. A full size suv is nothing more than a overgrown minivan with worse fuel consumption.

In 2007, we bought a new Honda Pilot 4WD base model for around $24, 000. It is our vehicle for out-of-town trips as well as pulling my utility trailer full of firewood and everything else. Excellent in the snow. Comfortable. We can fill 2 grocery carts at Costco and still have room to spare. Repairs: Every 7 years, we replace the timing belt. That's about all I've done to it. I'll have to do the big tune-up at 100, 00 miles but that's 35, 000 miles away and I live in a small town. I fill the gas tank once a month unless we go to Costco. The V6 engine is priceless. It's my last car. I'll never get anything else unless someone smashes it. It blows my mind the market value is only a few thousand. It's as good as the day I bought it with a few hundred thousand miles left on it. ❤

OOPS! It's a 2007, not a 2017! Sorry.

Although I agree the value prospect/resale is overall poor in the full size SUV range, its worth mentioning the better fuel economy of the Yukon/Tahoe/Suburban 3.0L diesel Duramax, great torque! Also don't sleep on the Toyota Grand Highlander (up to 36 mpg hybrid), Honda Pilot, redesigned Chevy Traverse/GMC Acadia, all with notable interior cargo space. Great and well laid out video Scotty!

The Toyota Sequoia entered its third generation with the 2022 m/y. Not the second generation (2007)
