It is a miracle none of my friends in primary school got tetanus, considering one of them decided to "inform" us that putting soil on a wound is a good idea.

Note about the pathogenesis of the disease: The bacteria has 2 forms (spore form, which can survive years, and vegetative form, which is the active form and stays at the point of entry - the wound with anaerobic conditions). The spore form is converted to vegetative one when in place with anaerobic conditions (no oxygen). The vegetative form releases an exotoxin (tetanospasmin) wich is spread vie blood or perineurally (vie the nurves) spreads to the CNS.

Except for a few words I've never heard of before (and, if I don't know them, the average person SURELY won't know them so, you should either steer clear of them or at least explain them), this was the best video on this that I've seen since 12 hours ago!! The other 7 videos didn't tell me SHIT!! On thing, though, you DON'T have to start every sentence with the word, "so". It DOES become QUITE annoying and, whoever started doing that 10 or 15 years ago should've been told to stop! Now EVERYBODY'S doing it!

Animal/dog diseases can cause lockjaw. Warts, Syphilis, Parvo can cause swelling of tongue and neck.

2 days ago an incident occured where I was on my way to shop and my cat followed me. So I picked him up and took him home. Whilst I was busy opening the door one of my dogs got a hold of my cats tail, biting it. My one dog is not very fond of cats. There is enough space for both of them on our yard (just incase someone was wondering). We leave our windows open for them and fetch them when sun down (cats). Anyways, as the dog was biting the cats tail the cat bit my hand open. This wounds is deeper than the other wounds I have ever had. My jaw is stiff and pains + headaches, neck muscles stiff too.

The thing is, normally weekly I get these headaches FOR YEARS NOW and it seems to get worse over time. I have been to doctors and no one could help me.

It is now 2 days ago this happened. Do you think it's tetanus or the headache. I felt it coming (headache) 3 days ago. I have it now. Been having it yday too.

what is the difference between tetanus and severe headaches?

I have had a lock jaw before
my neck muscles are always tight.
I always have headaches - weekly=severe

I have been bitten before and never went for an injection.

I *REALLY* hope that I never get Tetanus, considering how dangerous and deadly it is. I'm trying to keep up with vaccines, but I can't remember when I had them, except for the last three.

*OCTOBER 14, 2009* (possibly a Td or Tdap, I don't remember)
*JULY 22, 2015* (likely only a Td)
*OCTOBER 1, 2019* (the only one I know was a Tdap because I requested it)

The fact that I can't recall any previous Tetanus boosters means that it must have been much longer before that 2009 booster. And, I'm not a careful person, considering how poorly I sleep. I mean, I don't intentionally injure myself, but my carelessness does, occasionally, yield to an injury or two from time to time.
