Hey there Tubers! It's Justin again, and today I wanted to tell you a little bit about the Pineapple plant! It is an extremely easy plant to start from just a Pineapple found at any marketplace. Watch till the end to find out how!

NOTE: If you have a hard time hearing over the music, try unplugging your headphones and watch without them. I am aware the music is too loud, and I have 100% fixed this in my newer videos, but this was an early video and I was still learning to edit. I apologize for the problem though, and you can be sure this won't happen in any of my newer videos! Thanks for watching!

This video was so helpful I have been growing my pineapple plant for exactly two years from April 2017 to April 2019 so the Apple peeling compost idea was good to know, I'm going to try it and hopefully soon I'll be getting a pineapple flower thanks again. 🍍😊😉❤️🌸🍍

A trick I learned is to just twist the top off of the pineapple and set it in a small pot of prepared, moist soil. Also, check for a hole in the center of the pineapple when you pick one at the store. Some companies put a hole down the center so you can't grow anything with it.

I have one I just brought it in . the weather in Tucson AZ gets very cold at night in the winter I grow it all summer and I don't want it to die . I hope it makes it in the house during the winter months . Thank you for your tips on bringing this plant in for the winter 👍🏻😄

Thank you so much for this video!
We brought a pineapple back from a family vacation to Hawaii and I've been trying to grow the top since. Sadly, I was lost. Your video really answered questions that I didn't even know I should be asking.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for answering my question as like you I have an amazing pineapple plant and want to give it the best of care. I discovered you only last week when I took possession of a coconut palm so I’ll keep an eye on your site as you are highly informative. Have a great day. Saundra

Good tips! I've got about 7 pineapple plants that started from 1 years ago. Harvesting them at about 1 to 2 pineapples per year and they are the best, but a little small.

I’ve grown dozens of pineapple plants. You gave a lot of great advice in your video. The only difference I do is to root my tops in sand, sometimes with an under layer of potting soil but usually just straight sand. I use builders sand, not play sand btw. I save styrofoam bowls or the styrofoam little box that mushrooms come in, punch a drainage hole(s), fill with 3 or 4 inches of sand, shove the pineapple into the sand, then water well and sit it in a sunny location. After that I just water everyday. Eventually, it grows some fine roots then I transfer it to a pot with a mixture of potting mix, sand and compost.

Oh and I have had one old pineapple plant that put out a second (but much smaller) pineapple.

I have my pineapple crown sitting in water. It has lots of roots. Any suggestion on how I can transfer to soil?

Do I water 💧 this plant like a regular bromeliad in the center of the cup and not in the soil? I am finding some dyeing leaves at the bottom of leaves.

I have two pineapple plants and brought them in for the winter. I repotted them and during this process my center part of one of the plants came completely out. Will it grow a new center

Awesome info thank you. I have 7 plants that are growing like weeds but i haven't had flowers or fruit. I thought i would have had something by now 3 of the plants are almost 4 years old but i didn't know a lot of this info so maybe next year i might 🤞🤙👍

It’s much easier to twist the foliage off the actual pineapple rather than cutting it off you will get a better growth rate and all you do is Stripaway the green foliage at the bottom exposing the white area and I just put that in a glass of water until you get roots and then pop it in the soil in a way it goes I now have over a dozen plants growing that way
