Excellent, commentary, Katrina! Thank you for talking about silent breaths. This promotes taking "concentrated breaths" (versus "loose breaths" such as when expanding your lungs) which connect deep in the body so that your breath can be small and available. Breathing is one of the most misunderstood aspects of vocal production. Please continue to address breathing, especially within the context of singing.

My voice is jacked up. I never in my life imagined having such issues with my voice. I will probably have to quit my job soon.

This is AWARENESS. I like your presentation. I have this issue with not being able to talk loudly enough (it seems), but for instance if I have to call at the driver from the back of the bus, I have always followed almost the exact process you describe, and hell, I have EVERYONE'S attention. But, it makes me self conscious. And I just can't be YELLING like that in a noisy conversation, it's way too loud. I've been thinking more about it lately, it confuses me.
edit: I notice the pitch change/resonance change in your voice when you do the technique. It reminds me of the change I get in my voice, I have a very similar neck/jaw ratio to you which makes me feel redeemable! lol also, I have almost the same glasses frames :D :D

I moved from europe to north america and damn people are LOUD; on my scale it feels like they are yelling for talking; and i often have to force my voice to be heard in a group, which quickly hurts.

Some of this is very new to me. I'm probably going to watch this multiple times to try to get it right.

My body doesn’t know how to yell either way🥹. I just can’t yell at someone across the street or something. I can’t even talk loud enough😭.

I run D&D games at my local game store and there's usually a LOT of background rabble making it hard to hear so i need to project for my players to understand what I'm saying. I have a feeling this will really help, thanks!
